Celebrating READ ACROSS AMERICA by reading AMERICA IS to second graders:
Celebrating READ ACROSS AMERICA by reading ACROSS THE BLUE PACIFIC to fourth graders:
Each student was given a card with a sailor’s photo, hometown, birthday and job aboard the submarine. Then I called off the names of various states and kids raised their hands if their sailor was from that state.
The crew came from Washington, D.C. and 30 states.
